So you wanna know a little bit more, huh? To start, my name is Jessica Florio and I created this space to open up my writing to the world by sharing my thoughts, experiences, resources, and opinions on present day life and parenting. Most importantly, I am the very lucky wife of my wonderful husband Larry, and a very lucky mother to our beautiful baby boy EJ!
I guess you could call this a “mom blog” but I also love the worlds of wellness and pop culture so that’s what I’ve got going on. No topic is off limits: breastfeeding, fitness, reality TV, race relations, Montessori toys, mental health and the list goes on. Whether it’s a quick list of stuff I love or an essay illuminating life’s tribulations, I’m exploring it all through my raw and oftentimes irreverent lens.
Why the name Upper West Jess? It’s a nod to where I was born, raised, and currently live: the Upper West Side of Manhattan. And it’s kind of catchy, don’t ya think?
